Ocala Wetland Recharge Park

 After visiting Sholom Park I stopped by the Ocala Wetland Recharge Park. I walked the green gator loop trail. It was a little over a mile. I got my 10k steps in before lunch.

Sholom Park

 Went to Sholom Park this morning. We visited this park a couple of times and you liked walking the paths.

The Magnolia trees were blooming. I loved the smell of the one we had at the house in Spring Valley Township. Right by the door so coming and going it always smelled wonderful.

                                 

Urn

 I had not intended to get a urn since we both want our ashes to be spread.

This one spoke to me when I was at the funeral home making plans. It is called Painted Peace Doves. Fitting.

I am not ready to let you go yet and I did not want you in a cardboard box.

I think it is beautiful and fitting for you.

Micanopy FL

Jeni loved visiting Micanopy FL. A small town that had a few shops and a restaurant. We enjoyed going to the fall festival each year.

In 2024 she struggled to walk the entire event and in 2025 we were unable to attend.

She would have lived to see it as a movie set.

 

Clifton Mill

After delivering Jeni’s hope chest to Shery’s house I stoped at Clifton Mill.

I remember Christmas time when we would go to see the lights and decorations.

They had lights on the water wheel and all along the bank.

Jenifer L. (Stroup) Lansing

(May 24, 1964 – May 4, 2026) 

    Jenifer Lansing, 61, of Silver Springs, Florida passed away Monday, May 4th, 2026, at Hospice of Marion County in Ocala, Florida. She was born in Xenia, Ohio on May 24th, 1964, the daughter of James and Wilma (Boerner) Stroup. She volunteered with the Spring Valley Township Fire Department for 18 years and was a member of the Spring Valley Global Methodist Church.  

    She courageously battled cancer for four years with unwavering strength and grace and departed this world surrounded by love, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, compassion, and cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Throughout her journey, she demonstrated extraordinary bravery. Even in the face of illness, she continued to share laughter, wisdom, and encouragement, never allowing her circumstances to diminish her love for others. Her presence brought joy, and her absence leaves an irreplaceable void. 

    Jeni enjoyed traveling, hiking, camping, and being out in nature. The Great Smokey Mountains were her favorite travel destinations. While living in Silver Springs, Florida, she called our weekend trips adventures. 

    Jeni was preceded in death by her father, James Stroup, her mother Wilma Stroup and her brother Samuel Stroup. She is survived by her husband, L Travis Lansing, whom she married on February 19th, 1994, and her sister Shery (Billy) Baker. 

    Jeni’s banking and mortgage career started at Bellbrook Community Bank, spanned forty years, and ended at Chase Bank in Xenia. 

    The family will hold a private memorial service in the Smokey Mountains at their convenience. 

    In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Hospice of Marion County, Ocala, Florida or to the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition. 

Rest in peace, you are deeply loved and will never be forgotten. 

Hamvention

 At Hamvention and I found our brick at the flagpole.
Then the plaque for the building dedication in 2001.
I know you really enjoyed the fair. Even in Florida we would travel 2.5 hours to go to a fair.
