2024 Eclipse - Ohio

Total Solar Eclipse over Ohio on April 8, 2024

On April 8, 2024, people within a 124-mile wide stretch of Ohio will experience a total solar eclipse – where the moon appears to totally obscure the sun. And for those not in the path of totality, a partial eclipse will be viewable. A total solar eclipse is a rare and unique event. Ohio's last visible total solar eclipse was over 200 years ago - in 1806!

Leaves

Abi Kahn Horse Challenge
Late summer, but watching an occasional leaf that has changed color fall to the ground.
That leaf has completed it's purpose, it grew, gathered sunlight, provided things in the way it was designed.
Having finished that purpose, it will now decay and return it's nutrient to the ground.

Watching the birds and listening to the insects between the noise of passing vehicles; all are fulfilling their purpose.

Some animals mate for life and mourn the louse of their partner. Our cats mourned the loss of our dogs for weeks.
So the same with us as we mourn and miss our departed loved ones.
The completion of their purpose has brought us loss and surrow as they are now missing from our lives.

Midland, OH Train Stop

The picture was posted on FaceBook by Ken Gray.

I remember this place from growing up spending time in the summer in Midland. Stayed with Uncle Kenney and Aunt Annie. Fun time playing on the tracks.

Packing Up...

Rented the 2nd shed today, will have it until we head to Florida.

We can use it to store stuff in so we can better organize the main shed.
I think if we can pack it better we can get a lot more into the 1 building.
In the past the weather has not cooperated either; always seems to be cold and rainy while we are trying to organize and pack things up.

Somewhat dissapointed in having to wait till March 2021 to see if we can get a reservation.

When one door closes, another door opens...

Cold, rainy, grey day....

Not sure if that is why I feel so sad today or not.
May be missing Mom & Dad a little more than usual. Could be the upcoming holidays without them, could be making plans to go to Florida. I think it is also from working from home so long. I guess working from home is only part of it, it is all the restrictions on dining out and getting together.

Just not feeling it today, would like to curl up in a warm blanket and stay in bed all day.

Unfortunately there is work to do.

Ohio at Night

I love this night picture.
Need to spend more time outside... as soon as we get rid of the mosquitos!

Christmas 2019

Time to get the strocking out again!
Going to need a bigger fireplace and mantle.
It is nice having a large family that stays in touch.

Leaves

While walking Stripe on her leash this morning, she was smelling every blade of grass, I stood listening and watching the leaves.
Green, yellow, brown, and red. Not quite the peak color but the colors was not what really caught my attention. The sound of the leaves rustling in the wind along with the birds chirping was the first.

Then while standing there I started watching them a they fell from high up.
Some came down fast, dropping straight from the limb to the leaf covered ground.
Others however seemed to float on the wind for several minutes as they helicoptered gently to the ground. Floating flat parallel to the ground, the little stem in the air causing the leaf to spin circles all the way down.
